Although not an inclusive list, the Application Developer is responsible for performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:
•    Build and maintain secure, reliable, efficient software using PHP and Python
•    Improve organization and performance of existing software
•    Extend the Earth911 platform to new devices and technologies
•    Assist in data analysis and generation of reports
•    Coordinates with the Interactive Designer to create high-quality user interfaces
•    Develops and maintains productive working relationship with team members
•    Promotes and maintains a positive, professional image of Earth911
In performing the duties of the Application Developer, the individual requires the following traits:

Required
•    Experience in Python programming
•    Background in SQL and relational database design
•    A strong understanding of client server technology, server architecture, and network protocol and standards
•    Experience developing in a linux environment
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
•    Experience with ArcGIS or other similar GIS applications
•    Working knowledge of geographic information management and spatial data standards
•    Background in WordPress, Django, Ruby on Rails, or similar web platforms
•    Development experience with iOS, Android, or other mobile platforms
•    Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git or Mercurial
•    Knowledge of functional programming techniques and languages
